Course integration
Organisation in a truly integrated way
The coordination in a truly integrated way is guaranteed by a real body, with his own charter, head quarter and personnel. With its competences on development, management and integration of projects with several partners, and match these with Job Market, notably work-placement, the fisD Consortium allow each partners involved in the reCity, among HEIs in Europe and Third Countries, of bringing its own contribution in the joint programme. The integration is on the both level of planning and implementation of the reCity, through the educational content, the teachers, the practitioners, the technicians and the experts.
The jointly developed curriculum of the course, is composed by 23 FUs - Formative Units, gathered in 4 Design Labs, with different themes, and other 8 FUs among which Counselling, Internship, ICT, Languages, Safety and Thesis.
An early FU in ICT, in Italy, and the digital devices provided by the Consortium, composed of multimedia computer laptop, internet connection (in the education promises), softwares are not only an attractive factors for students, but also a way to support them both with the competencies and the tools which they need during all the length of the reCity (teaching and study hours, mobility, internship, thesis).
ReCity is intended as interdisciplinary course, and fis'D involves HEIs, different both for context and for educational characteristics, because a truly interdisciplinary course cannot be delivered by one institution. In each semester, the reCity moves people, coming from each part of the world, from one culture to another. While students receive more consistency throughout the consortium in support facilities, the academic diversity (which the students are well prepared) makes them better global citizens, especially in times of political and economic uncertainty.
The first semester and the first part of the second semester, runs in Catanzaro (Italy), a city in the heart of mediterranean sea, where are hosted two different Design Labs, 1 and 2. During the FUs of ICT, Image Editing and Video Editing, iMED as Apple Authorised Training Center, in his premises, grants the Apple Certifications. Those last ones are prominent awards to enhance the curriculum vitae of the students, for an effortless work-placement and to give them those digital skills useful to reach their potential, using at their best the digital divises, provided them by the Fis'D, throughout all the length of the course, including the skill to share on line their course experiences.
In the course of second semester, students study in other two European countries, France and Spain. During this mandatory mobility period, according with their interests, students can choose one of the other two Design Labs. This allow the individualisation of curricula. Therefore, the students, in addition to a period of time spent all together, both in France and in Spain, are divided in two groups, ones in Paris and the other in Valencia. The Design Lab 3, runs in Paris (France), one of the most important and big european metropolis. Studying in Paris is a great opportunity to see on site, several examples of City Regeneration already realised, into the centre and into the outskirts of the city, or still in the state of project, visiting specialised documentation centres, as the ENSAPLV's Library, the "Pavillon de l'Arsenal, the library of APUR, "Ateleier Parisienne d'Urbanisme" and so on.

During the mandatories and electives Design Labs there are seminars and a study tour where, are involved to attend all the students together, the timing of this events are organised to avoid unnecessary student travel.
There is the full commitment of the Rectors and Deans of the HEIs involved in the reCity, which are identified as senior players in the key academic positions, to ensure that the Course is a key element of the University's aim to internationalise. In this way, the ReCity has wide recognition at institutional level and is fully embedded into university structures as an occasion to apply best practices of each partner involved, with important improvement on the normal education activities. This strong institutional support, at many levels, provides authority, but also flexibility to the course team.
The ReCity provide an appropriate institutional level commitment in place to mach the high standards of support expected by students, into every aspect of the course and the services offered. Students are considered as important international members bringing with them an additional contribution to the life of the institution.
